I'm Blaming Adam

Pastor Taylor is an absolute give away. Yes I'm a pastor. Before that I'm a Christian. Yes, I believe the Bible to be true. And today I'm thinking about what the Bible says at the very beginning, about Adam and Eve.

The original two, the first couple if you will, were created perfect. They lived in a perfect world. And they found a way to mess it up. I say "they" but the New Testament never blames Eve. It's like she is off the hook or something. Adam is always to blame. The MAN is always to blame. Read that carefully ladies.

So putting blame where the New Testament does, what happened when Adam disobeyed? If you are reading my blog you probably already know. There was a curse pronounced on Adam, by God Himself. A curse.

The best, and most practical, explanation I've ever heard about the curse goes like this. When Adam sinned the whole world fell, was cursed, and as a result you can count on the big three: failure, futility, and frustration. These three became Adams reality. And ours. Mine.

I want to go on record by saying that today I've been reminded of the curse of Adam. I've experienced first hand the frustration and apparent failure of my best intentions. I shouldn't explain this much further except to say that it relates to parenting. Count me among that number of parents who sometimes look up to heaven and wonder why. I tried to pray about it, but the answer was there before I could get the first sentence out...so I'm blaming Adam.
