I'm eleven chapters into 1 Samuel. Here are some of my impressions so far:
~ Saul left home looking for donkeys and came home a King.
~ Before Saul was as great leader he was a great son.
~ "Is the seer here?" is one of my favorite lines in all of the Bible.
~ The King (Monarchy) was a substitute for the Source (Theocracy).
~ God warned the people of all the King would take from them.
~ God changed Saul and made him a new man.
~ God used Saul's anger to raise him up among the people.
