Here is a look at the latest Drought Monitor for Alabama…
The far southern part of the state, from Mobile to Dothan, is dealing with an “extreme drought”… while North Alabama is just “abnormally dry” at this point.
There has been no measurable rain during the month of June (based on data from Birmingham); our last measurable rain was on May 26, and then the total was only 0.14″.
The last time we enjoyed a high below 90 was on May 27, when the maximum temperature in Birmingham was 82.
Let’s hope for some kind of tropical system that can bring us some rain later this month or in July. We are simply too hot and too dry…
