All we need is about a half million dollars PER HOUSEHOLD to pay it off. Or to put this in plain English, there is no way for Americans to continue to live as we do and ever become solvent as a nation. Current "entitlements" alone make solvency impossible. Add to this the "bail out" trillions and who knows how much more from programs being promoted by our presidential candidates and you have the creation of a monster - Fedzilla.
